Frequently Asked Questions about Tuning and Remaps
Can the car be put back to standard? Yes the original software from your car is backed up by TuningFacotry.co.uk and held on file indefinitely, and can be restored at any time. This is normally done free or at minimum cost.
What happens if the main dealer installs new software? Should you lose your tuning files due to main dealer actions or parts failure TuningFactory.co.uk will be happy to re-install the map. This is normally done free or at minimum cost
Should I tell my insurance company? The responsible answer to this question has to be "yes", your insurance company should be notified. All TuningFactory.co.uk upgrades are virtually undetectable by the main dealers’ computer systems, but anyone driving the car will know it has been mapped.
Many insurance companies do not penalise you for upgrades of this nature, particularly if you are tuning for increased economy.
Adrian Flux is our recommendation.
Will it affect manufacturer warranty? Manufactures cannot refuse a warranty claim on just because your vehicle has been remapped, they would have to prove that any failure was directly caused by the remap. Many dealerships are aware of remaps and are not scared of them, some even offer them!

Will my fuel consumption go up after an upgrade? Most of customers report an improvement in fuel economy, even on the performance tunes.
Our economy tunes combined with a smooth driving style will have a dramatic on the fuel consumption and will offer huge money saving over the lifetime of the vehicle
Can I see a dyno print out to prove the power upgrade?Yes. Most dealers have a rolling road or access to a local facility, so for a small extra cost you can have a print out to prove the improvement.
Are plug and play devices and files sold on E-bay any good? They are certainly cheap, but we cannot recommend them.
The wire-in devices operate by merely adjusting a specified signal within the ECU by a set tolerance. It's impossible to compare these inferior upgrades with a full rolling road re-map which measures and adjusts hundreds of signals and data files within the ECU.
The generic files and unsupported devices for sale on the web should be avoided. We have had to deal with the problems caused by customers that have tried to do it themselves, it is very common in these situations for the vehicle to not start after a E-bay map has been written to them, the fix can be very expensive.
